Nine Dragons Odyssey

Kowloon, Nine Dragons. The name alone carries the weight of legend, referring to the eight hills of the peninsula and the young emperor who, centuries ago, counted himself among the dragons to make the ninth. The Nine Dragons Odyssey is Cruivantara's premier multi-day journey: a three-day, two-night exploration that begins in the storied waters of Kowloon and fans outward across Hong Kong's diverse maritime geography. It is ambitious by design, unhurried by intention, and unlike anything else in our collection.

No single cruise reveals more of Hong Kong's character than this one

The Experience

Day one departs from Tsim Sha Tsui as the harbor sits at its ultimate photogenic, the Hong Kong Island skyline ahead, the Kowloon hills behind, the water between them catching the morning light like hammered copper. The vessel moves east along the Kowloon waterfront, passing the former Kai Tak runway site, once one of the world's dramatic airport approaches, now a quietly transforming district, before turning north toward Tolo Harbor. Few visitors ever reach these waters; fewer still arrive by private vessel. Tolo is a different Hong Kong entirely: quiet, green, and laced with a stillness the main harbor simply cannot offer.

Night one is spent anchored off Tap Mun, known locally as Grass Island, under skies unobstructed by the city's ambient glow. Day two circles through the Sai Kung archipelago, arguably Hong Kong's breathtaking coastal environment, a scattered jigsaw of volcanic islands, deserted beaches, and waters so clear they read nearly turquoise in the afternoon light. Night two anchors off Sharp Island. Day three brings a slow return toward Kowloon through Lei Yue Mun, with its famous seafood village clinging to the channel's edge, before a late afternoon arrival back at Tsim Sha Tsui.

Onboard

Private en-suite cabins with harbor-facing windows and extravagant bedding throughout. Full restaurant service across all three days, with menus that evolve to reflect the waters you are sailing through. Evening cultural talks covering Kowloon's layered history, the Sai Kung fishing communities, and Hong Kong's remarkable volcanic geology. Dawn tai chi sessions on the upper deck, led by a practitioner from the New Territories.

Appropriate For

Couples, history enthusiasts, travelers seeking deep immersion, and extravagant leisure travelers.
